Lee Lipton

Lee Lipton offers two decades of leadership experience with airlines and airports in Canada, the U.S., Caribbean, and Europe.

Lee’s airline experience career includes responsibility for network strategy, route development, and flight scheduling and covers a range of business models and geographies.
At both WestJet (Canada) and Aer Lingus (Ireland), the business included transatlantic operations, major connecting hubs, and planning regional airline networks. During his tenure at Southwest Airlines (U.S.), Lee led flight scheduling, network planning, and strategy functions for the low-cost carrier.

Throughout his airline career, Lee also focused on enhancing network planning and flight scheduling processes, implementing proactive route performance management, and building close partnerships with destination marketing organisations, economic development agencies, and airport leaders.

Lee took the same collaborative approach while working on the airport side of the table. He led air service development for the Vantage Airport Group, growing passenger and cargo service across the network of 10 airports in five countries. These airports represented very different regions and market dynamics where Lee worked with a wide range of regional, national, and international airlines.

Lee is based in Vancouver, Canada. In addition to leading Span, he serves on the Boards of Directors for the Scandinavian Community Centre Society and Icelandic Canadian Club of British Columbia.

He is also a guest lecturer on airline network planning at the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business.
